New Huntington State Beach cleanup schedule includes two on the second and last Saturday of each month. Next dates coming up are: Saturday, March 14th, 2004 and March 28th, 2004. Interested in coming out for 15 minutes? This is a fun and easy way to volunteer for the Surfrider Foundation, and also get extra credit at school. Individuals and groups are always welcome. Plastic gloves and bags are provided, and parking is usually free if you tell parking attendant that you are there for the beach clean up. We are always looking for volunteers to man our booth as well as participate in the clean up. Meet at the Santa Ana River mouth. Enter Huntington State Beach at Brookhurst Street or Magnolia Avenue (sometimes a gate may be closed). UCI Earth Day celebrates with a campus festival. The UCI Volunteer Center in coordination with Earth Resource Foundation present this celebration on April 17th, 2004 from 10- 4pm UCI Aldrich Park. For more information visit their website at

Have a used laptop computer, trip to Costa Rica in the works? New project coordinated by our chapter and writer/surfer Allan Weisbecker. Computers For Costa Rica is a project running this year to deliver computers to schools in Costa Rica. We are looking for laptop computers, individuals who are traveling to Costa Rica who could be carriers of these computers to San Jose or Povones, Costa Rica and shipping funds for large bulk shipments. During the November Executive Committee Meeting, new officers were elected to serve as heads of the 2004 committees. Looking for an easy way to support the environment? Surf Shack Sanitizers is a Huntington Beach house cleaning service that does mor ethan just clean. They have a recycling program where you dispose of your recyclables in their bins and the proceeds from the recycling go to our chapter. Thanks Tanya for all the support.
