Dear Ocean Outfall Group (OOG):

Despite the State Water Resources Control Board's decision to reject the Goleta 301(h) waiver, the Goleta Sanitary District (GSD) is apparently planning on filing a lawsuit protesting the decision. Now is the time to send an email requesting that GSD not file a lawsuit, but instead, just go about cleaning up its sewage and stop polluting the ocean.

Here is an email suggested by Hillary Hauser of Heal the Ocean:

Send To:

Subject: Please Don't Delay, Please Upgrade Sewage Treatment Facilities

Body of email:

Elbert Trantow, president
Goleta Sanitary District

Goleta, CA. 93116-0906

Re: Goleta 301(h) Waiver

Dear Mr. Trantow,

Now that the State Water Resources Control Board has overturned the Goleta Sanitary District appeal to continue its 301(h) waiver, I am writing to ask that you proceed immediately with plans for upgrading your sewer plant to full secondary treatment levels.

I ask that your board of directors spend not one more dime on legal fees to fight this, that you file no more lawsuits and appeals, that you create no further delay to upgrade your sewage treatment methods. The people of California want this, the people of Santa Barbara and Goleta want this - all ocean users want this.

We ask that you cease spending your ratepayers' money to continue in a practice many citizens, including your ratepayers, do not want continued.

Please proceed with all haste to file with the Regional Water Quality Control Board your plans for upgrade. You will be doing much to help a statewide effort to clean up our state's waters, and especially our ocean.

Thank you.

Thanks. You have to keep after these little devils.
