SURFRIDER UPDATE
SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2003

Summer is over but we still seem so busy here at HB/SB Surfrider. Thanks to everyone for their help over the summer with all our events. Now is the time where we focus on what we want to accomplish over the next year and hope that everyone who has worked with us over 2003 keeps coming back as we are always short-handed!

ALERTS

Volunteers Needed Sunday, September 21st:

The HBWahine surf camp is holding a benefit surf contest for our Surfrider Chapter September 21st at Bolsa Chica State Beach (tower 21) from 7am to 3pm. Contest, food and games all day! There are two ways to get involved: Enter the contest or help as a volunteer. Contest entrance fee is $10 and includes a Surfrider Membership. Contact Camp Director Mark Ortiz at 714-596-2696 or hbwahine@msn.com for more information about entering the contest. You can enter that morning but get there early! Surfrider is also desperate for volunteers for such areas as judging, set-up,

beach clean up, organization, and registration. If you have even just an hour to spare on Sunday, we could use your help to get this great event running smoothly. To volunteer, contact Sarah Carlson at 626-798-7464 ext. 5 or happyblackbird@yahoo.com.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

At this time we are looking for individuals with leadership qualities to come help our chapter.
