Sand Castle Festival: Seal Beach

We need as many volunteers as possible to assist in various duties for the setup of Seal Beach Sand Castle Festival! Volunteer positions include: people to shovel, man the fire hose, put up fencing, and much more -- all starting this Tueday, Sept. 2nd through Friday, Sept. 5th.

Volunteers are also still needed in various duties during the festival such as ticket takers, sculptors, water handlers, etc. Festival runs September 6th and 7th.

If you have any time from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on any of the above dates, even if it is just 1 hour, please contact Kim Masoner at 562-799-0179

Seal Beach Sand Castle Festival is "Nonstop Magic"! Think about it... How many attractions can instill awe and wonder in any age group? Sand sculpture is one of the few forms of entertainment that appeals across all demographic boundaries. No one can resist the fantasy of a sand castle.

At the Seal Beach Sand Castle Festival, you can watch or you can compete with over 50 teams in 6 categories for cash and prizes! In addition, professional artists will create a gorgeous medieval castle magically made of just sand and water! This masterpiece requires moving 800 tons of sand and will be the centerpiece of the Festival. We expect attendanc! e this year to be over 50,000.

Admission for the Sand Castle Festival is $5 per adult/$1 per child. Net proceeds go to "Save Our Beach" an organization dedicated to improving the water quality along the Southern California Coastline and to help educate our youth on how they can make simple changes in their lives to reduce, reuse and recycle in a very fun way! Save Our Beach conducts monthly beach cleanups, annual riverbed cleanup along the San Gabriel Riverbed and is introducing environmental education curriculum into Southern California schools K-12.

What can you do to help make this event happen?

Thank You So Much!

Kim Masoner, Director

Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce
