Letters were sent to Patients who may have received defective Aneurysm Stents.
The Ancure "stent-graft" device was used during operations to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms (bulges in the walls of the main artery leaving the heart). The Ancure manufacturer, Guidant Corporation subsidiary Endovascular Technologies admitted they failed to report as many as 2,600 malfunctions since September 1999.
