Subject: Re: Save Our Land and Liberate Our Fellow Veterans
A BIG THANKS to the loyal Veterans and Community Supporters who showed up for the Fifth Sunday Rally. We urge all Veterans to show up and support this noble cause. Do not neglect the enormous responsibility of saving this hallowed land and passing it on to future generations of America's Military Veterans, just as previous generations have always done since 1888.
Equally important, help us liberate our fellow Veterans who are being held captive at the Los Angeles National Veterans Home and denied their Constitutional Right to Assemble and Protest with us.
"Shame on the VA - They Gave Our Veterans Land Away"
ATTEND VETERANS' SUNDAY RALLY VI
April 27th / 1:00 - 4:00 PM
"LIBERATE OUR FELLOW VETERANS"
Prisoners of the VA GWLAHS
To those Veterans who know how the VA Greater West Los Angeles Healthcare System (VA GWLAHS) operates, it comes as no surprise that they would give away Veterans Land to the community of Brentwood for a public park. That the VA GWLAHS would give away $1 million of Veterans seriously needed healthcare money to help the community build a wrought iron fence to "beautify" the entryway into Brentwood comes as no surprise either.
That the VA GWLAHS would imprison Veteran patients, residents and/or employees behind this egregious fence and deny them their Constitutional Right to Assemble and Protest to save this land, actually comes as no surprise either. If you attended the 120th Anniversary Celebration of the Deed of 1888 on March 2, 2008, you experienced first hand how the VA violated our First Amendment Rights to Freedom of Speech, Expression and of the Press.
However, the fact that more of America's Military Veterans do not show up every Sunday to protest against the VA's land giveaway and the suppressing of the First Amendment Rights of our fellow Veterans who are either patients, residents and/or employees at the VA GWLAHS, is what's truly surprising, and very disappointing.
Fellow Veterans, these Sunday Rallies are not just about "Saving the Home." No, this is also about "Liberating our Fellow Veterans" who are being held "prisoners" on this hallowed land and being denied their Constitutional Rights to Assemble with us and Protest against our government and the VA GWLAHS.
Now, if you're more concerned about the "Human Rights" violations of the Chinese Communists against the people of Tibet than you are the imprisonment and "Human Rights" violation of our fellow Veterans here at the Los Angeles National Veterans Home, then you need to rethink your priorities.
Show up this Sunday, April 27th, 1:00 PM, and do your duty to "Save the Home" and to "Liberate Our Fellow Veterans."
"In the end, we will not remember the words of our enemies,
but the silence of our friends."
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Note: The American Flags hanging in the background in the above photo (taken by Gil Flores) are waving upwardly in the brisk winds and are not improperly presented. We are very proud to have an American Flag and an MIA / POW Flag donated by the "Daughters of the American Revolution," in Dayton, Tennessee, and two American Flags donated by the national Veterans organization, Operation Firing For Effect, headquartered in Rochester, New York.
