"THE CASE FOR MANDATORY VA FUNDING"
In a letter dated June 09, 1998 from Congressman C.W. "Bill" Young of St. Petersburg, Florida and sent to me as the then Managing Editor of The Veterans Free Press Newspaper on the Internet to let me know about his "mutual concerns" in protecting Veterans Benefits, Congressman Young stated in pertinent part that:
"If our nation rescinds its promises and ignores its obligation to those who have fought to preserve freedom throughout the world, we compromise the right to ask our men and women to serve and defend our national principles."
Why don't we currently hear the majority of Lawmakers saying the same thing Congressman Young said??? I'll tell you why??? Our Nation, specifically the Executive and the majority of the Legislative Branches of Our Federal Government have been and are currently rescinding Its promises and ignoring its obligation to Veterans.
Yet these same "Politicians" still ask Our Men and Women to serve and Defend not only our National Principles but the National Principles of Iraq and Afghanistan and other Nations throughout the World, but "refuse" to pass and enact Legislation for a "Mandatory VA Budget" each fiscal year to make sure Our Nation's Veterans receive all the "Enititlements" they have "earned," including but not limited to VA Medical Care, Service-Connected Disability Compensation, and Non-Service Connected Disability Pensions.
The above quoted statement from Congressman Young makes "The Case For Mandatory VA Spending," short and simple!!!!!
P.S. Anyone who would like a copy of this Letter from Congressman Young, just E-Mail me your FAX # and I will send it to you... I do not have a "scanner."TERRY RICHARDS, Vietnam Era Veteran Retired-Disabled.
